Okay, okay, it's obvious "the exchange" is never going to be what it once was. But that's okay! I think it's beyond awesome that so many of us are still here - and we do have this place to pop in to and say hello every once in a while. Just don't forget us for too long! :)

Guess the pull of social media sites are just too strong. :(

Got life going on everyone. My apologies. EVH passing has been devastating even 2 weeks after. Been learning the VH2 record on guitar and buying an EVH guitar if i can find one.....left handed lol

I check in every once in a while. Yeah, life gets in the way but thank you Sal & Dionfan for keeping this place going. (y)

Sal, I wouldn't quite say that we've 'fizzled out'. There is just so much going on in this world right now, that we are staying more focused on staying safe. I still manage to pop in from time to time, but between working, and trying to keep my family safe from Covid 19, I just don't have the time I used to have 10 years ago. I still LOVE the xchange and pray that there will be a time that I can spend endless hours on here, like I used to !!!!! You all are part of my family and always will be 🥰❤

It will never be what it once was, but it's nice to have to check in on. And at least here we aren't bombarded with bullshit political rants. ;)

Glad to know we can still pop in and say hello to old friends every now and then. It's always good to see you all...

Social media is woven into the fabric of nearly everything these days, so not entirely surprising. Way back when this WAS the primary platform of social media experience... now it's effectively been buried in antiquity with the rise of facebook, twitter and the rest. We kinda caught lightning in a bottle when this was at it's height... and a great time it was.

But then who knows... maybe forums will have their time of nostalgia where people will give them another go someday.

Ya know... I still run some forums that are so busy I worry my server might explode. :p

To me, it seems like the 80sxchange is no longer a place to come and reminisce about the 80s, but to reminisce about what the 80sxchange once was.

Hard to believe it's been 20 years ago that this place was new.

I would love to see some of the others pop in and say Hi. People we haven't seen since 2002.

Indeed. This is our place to catch up and say hello to old friends. If it ever grows into an 80s resource like our old site, then we'll make new friends. Either way is fine with me. :)

If those forums are your car related ones you used to have, I'm not surprised... enthusiasts will never tire of conversing about those. That's the other thing... I think maybe everyone said what they wanted to say and got all their nostalgia out when the place was at it's peak, so now it's like... what's left? Although there is still some discovery going on out there.... I love watching reaction videos of the younger generation watching videos of the 80s and getting into it or outright being blown away by what they're seeing and hearing.

Agreed with Recker as well... it would be cool to see the place even just as a social board and just talk about anything. 80s stuff will always have its place, but it could be for pretty much everything and anything within reason.

Funny thing, it wasn't all that long ago that the younger generation thought 80s music sucked. :p But that has changed. I think today's music has it's highs and lows - but more lows. I think its easier for young people today to appreciate the music we grew up with...
